Mission
Align partners and mobilize philanthropic capital to scale community-led affordable housing solutions nationally.
Vision
A Canadian housing ecosystem with thriving cross-sector partnerships so that everyone has a place to call home.
Values
Partnership
We work alongside public, private, philanthropic and nonprofit provider partners to advance solutions together because no one can solve the housing crisis alone.
Impact
We focus on real results: more affordable homes, stronger communities, and meaningful change. We steward resources responsibly and share our progress openly.
Inclusion
We value diverse perspectives and lived experience. We listen, learn, and act with cultural awareness and respect for the communities we serve.
Prosperity
We believe stable housing is the foundation for opportunity, belonging, and shared prosperity in every community.
Enterprising
We act with initiative and creativity, testing new ideas, building strong partnerships, and scaling what works.
Commitment to Equity
Partners for Affordable Housing recognizes that systemic inequities — including those rooted in colonialism, racism, sexism, ableism, and economic exclusion — continue to create barriers for many people across Canada. We also acknowledge that inequity can be compounded by factors such as Indigeneity, heritage, gender, race, ethnicity, age, ability, faith, sexual orientation or identity, education, and immigrant status. We are committed to identifying and addressing these barriers within our own practices, policies, and partnerships. By centering equity in our work, we aim to ensure that every person has the opportunity to live in a safe, affordable home and participate fully in the communities they help sustain.
Commitment to Reconciliation
Partners for Affordable Housing acknowledges that the land we now call Canada is home to diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples who have cared for these territories since time immemorial. The legacy of colonization, displacement, and systemic discrimination has caused deep harm and continues to affect Indigenous communities today, including through inequitable access to housing and land. We commit to advancing reconciliation by listening to and learning from Indigenous partners, supporting Indigenous-led housing solutions, and embedding reciprocity and respect in all our relationships. Guided by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, we seek to play our part in building a future where Indigenous rights, knowledge, and self-determination are honoured.
