100 Palliser Lane,

Canmore Community Housing

Canmore, AB

The Great Expectations Campaign is a bold and collaborative response to Canmore’s growing housing crisis. Spearheaded by the Town of Canmore and Canmore Community Housing, with fundraising support from Partners for Affordable Housing, the initiative brings together public, private, philanthropic, and non-profit partners to create lasting affordable housing solutions.

Its first project, 100 Palliser Lane, is a near-net-zero development that will deliver 144 purpose-built rental units at 25–40% below market rates—providing stable, affordable homes for essential workers and local families. Sustainability is built into every aspect of the project, with solar-powered rooftops, bike storage, shared green spaces, and efficient underground parking all contributing to an environmentally responsible design.

This multi-phase initiative is setting a new benchmark for affordable, sustainable housing in Canada—ensuring Canmore remains a place where people of all incomes can live, work, and thrive.

We’re already 1,200 homes short. This project is not just a necessity—it’s a lifeline for Canmore’s future.” – Kristopher Mathieu, CEO Canmore Community Housing
